About Our Program
Faculty and staff provide a nurturing environment that enable students to earn a high school diploma. They provide clear expectations of proper behavior through a system called Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). The system has three clear rules to student conduct respectfulness, responsibility, and readiness. The faculty, staff and administration plan school-wide procedures and rules together at the beginning of the year allowing for later changes.
One of the behavioral incentives for PBIS is "Clark Cash," a special type of motivational currency used in the classrooms, offices, and common areas of the school. With Clark Cash, students win privileges, buy a limited amount of school supplies, and obtain special classroom incentives according to each teacher's individual incentive plan. Additionally, each nine weeks students who make the Honor Roll participate in an Ice Cream Social.
Academically, our Credit Recovery program has been improved and extended from an after-school course to three traditional classes during the school day. This program, implemented with well-designed computer software, helps students gain enough credits to meet state standards for graduation and grade promotion. The class also offers one-on-one tutoring by the program teacher.
